It's 6 a.m. and what am I doing? Eating fruit snacks and staring hopelessly at a computer screen while I would MUCH rather be staring at the back of my eyelids. Sigh. I don't think I'll ever be friends with my old friend sleep again. It's making me go even MORE loony, if that's possible.
This last week has been one of the biggest roller-coasters of my entire life. It had the best of the best and the worst of the worstest in the world.
I choose to focus on the best.
Best - I AM OFF BED-REST. I made it!!! (I just did a bum jiggle, although that doesn't take much these days). I hit 36 weeks last week and the doctor said I could 'ease on up' out of bed rest. So I've been kicking my recliner repeatedly, like Chuck taught me, and trying to make up for two months lost time. It's just that no one told me how painful it is to waddle for more than five minutes. Or how my hips would make their own zip code, aching after being up all day. It hurts to be awake most days and I finally understand what women mean when they say they are 'done' being pregnant.
Yeah, he's cooked much longer than expected and I would be OK if he popped any minute. Only 3 weeks left.... 3 weeks.... I can make it, right???
BEST - I have been blessed with the best, most loving and generous family and friends in the world. They've given me several showers and I have a room full of love and generosity and cute cuddly boy things (including lots of hats.... rock on). The nursery is still pink - hopefully that will get conquered this week - and hopefully soon I can post pictures of the most awesome rockin pirate booty nursery in the WORLD. I am overwhelmed at the love and support of everyone around us. I don't know what I did to get so lucky. Or it could be pity for my over-sized baby mama hips. Either way.
BEST - Jake is still married to me, even after daily doses of me attacking him, and then crying on him, and then licking him, and then yelling, and even after he looks at my belly button. I don't know how he does it but he has special powers.
Yeah. SO - I was wondering, any tips on making baby ninjas dropkick their way out any faster? It's just my luck that he was so anxious to come before, now everything has shut off and he decided he is much more comfortable chillin in my belly, learning la cucaracha. Hot sauce??

Foot massages can put you in labor!!!! Can't wait to see pic's of that pirates room!
Oh yeah and why the heck am I on here so early anyways we both should be sleeping!!!!!!!
We are almost done being pregnant ...YAHOO!!! Here are some ideas that I've read about that might put you into labor (most likely myths, but worth a try): drink raspberry leaf tea, eat rye bread, go for a power walk (might be difficult with your hips). I think I'll try the power walk today. :) Good luck and your little man will be here before you know it!!
Probably the last thing you want to do (but probably are one of those frisky preggo ladies) but you get them out the same way you get them in in the first place (wink, wink)
ps make sure he knows there is no lovin for 6 weeks after the baby comes. It came as a bit of a shock to my husband :)
I am glad you made it this far. Good luck.
Eww, I remember those painful hip days. I think my hips hurt worse than anything. They kept me up nights. You know what I did? I slept on the couch so my hip was inbetween the cushions, so there was no pressure on it. It helped a lot! Memory foam works wonders too. As far as getting the baby out quickly, if you figure it out, then you could make millions.
Alisons comment is the way I got 2 out of the 3 here when I wanted. I am sure Jake wouldn't argue.
isn't it funny how we want the opposite of what we are given? alison, and kim are completely correct. i'm sure your dr has already informed you all about it. the proteins in jake's "little soldiers" cause a chemical reaction realeasing hormones into your bloodstream that cause contractions- thus inducing labor.ANYWAYS.....(my cheeks are red...jake's "little soldiers" teeheeheehee). your funny posts always make me laugh! hillarious! no, you are not insane, you are an incredibly gifted and creative writer and person! and you can schedule a "routine" induction a week before due date! so, technically, that knocks off another week!! YOU GO GIRL!
lots of walking, hard I know when you hips hurt. Also raspberry tea has been known to help. good luck!!
Just let him stay in as long as he will...because no matter how uncomfortable it is, it's waaayyy easier to have him inside, than out! I'm sure you're dying to meet him though, and I'm glad that you've made it so far! They say sex and nipple stimulation works! :) yep...just said nipples on the www.
Take it easy the last few weeks! I can't wait to read about his arrival! Good luck! :)
Jump up and down over and over. But alas, my words have no credibility because I have never been a preggo.
I still feel guilty about our piggy flu episode - you had to paint the nursery on your own - i'm so sorry! but i'm sure it looks better than if i had helped anyway...
